Cursor blinking.
blink. blink. blink.
Nothing to say.
blink. blink. blink.
Cell phone chimes.
blink. blink. blink
A welcome distraction.
blink. blink. blink.

Blink. blink. blink.
Still no ideas.
blink. blink. blink.
If I don't write now, it won't get done.
blink. blink. blink.
This flicker of an idea will have to do.
Save and quit.
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I see a perfect small moment story that began with you noticing something - the blinking of the cursor. Then you went on to show what you heard and your actions!
Great slice!

I have lots of post that start out with I have nothing to say to day and 400 words later I hit send. This was a great poem. Just keep putting words down.
ReplyDeleteYou are speaking my language! There are some days when I just stare at the screen thinking it'll speak to me or my fingers will magically start going.... they don't. :) Thanks for keeping it real!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this. The parts in parentheses added a lovely break from structure when you broke away from writing. Nicely written!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate! Great post, Michelle!
