Hi Michelle~I'm in Education in Florida, and just came across your Blog today (in a weird twist of fate) and saw how your school participated in National Walk Out Day...OH MY, I am still wiping the tears from my eyes!! That was one of the BEST and most respectful ways I have seen teaching our teens, especially at middle school, about empathy and understanding how to deal with tragedies that hit so "close to home", yet are still so far away!! I LOVED the chairs and the arial view of the heart with 17 in it---WOW!!! I am going to start reading your Blog (I work with deaf and hard of hearing students--who need to see more peers doing things like this)--you have such a special way with words, that I can tell you are an amazing teacher/coach and such a blessing to these young very impressionable minds and teachers! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for posting this! I'm so proud of our kiddos for taking a stand for change.
ReplyDeleteI loved getting to see this again! Thank you for sharing it with everyone.
