If you've been reading along, you know that yesterday I spent the night at The Abbey Resport in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Yesterday was awesome....in addition to hanging out in the spa all day, I also got a massage. It was totally worth every penny. You know, you get what you pay for. I have had some other massages through groupon, but when you're at an official spa, it's so good!
Last night after Liz and I finished up at the spa, we went to dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort. It was a casual place, and there was a little band playing - Triple D. (Not sure what that means....I'll investigate next time!) This group was pretty good, covering mostly 80's and 90's hits. There was Whitney, Gloria Estefan, Phil Collins...and then they covered Lorde for some current music. The girl who sang also played the saxophone so well - I should have took some video to show you!
Anyways, there were lots of people, especially after the wedding that was upstairs ended. But, from early on, there was this older couple who was there when we arrived for dinner. We didn't really take note of them until later in the evening, when the band did a slow song, and they went up to dance. They were so cute - dressed up and dancing along to Saving All My Love for You.
After this couple had been back and fourth a few times, Liz and I agreed that we hope that we find great loves like that - that when we're 60 or 70 years old, we are still getting dressed up and going out on dates, dancing to songs that were a little outdated, but probably would remind us memories we had created many years before.
Relationships aren't easy. The more experiences I have, the more I learn this. I can't imagine living in an unhappy relationship, but I know it takes lots of work to make them great. I just hope one day in the future, after I'm married, my husband and I have a love like that - a love like a date and dancing on Saturday night.
What did you all do Saturday night? Hope it was great!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Saturday! Yes, I'm sure that sweet couple would say they had to go through a lot of sunshine and storms together...and that is why they dance so well. :0) ...My parents can't dance (wink) but their love for each other is precious ...and they are a hoot!
ReplyDeleteThis was beautiful. I could just see that couple
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely nothing sweeter than an older couple still in love. You know they have been through a lot together and have really learned to love each other well! Glad you had fun at the spa!
